As none of our four main counties served has any formal animal control services, many of the dogs we currently rescue are strays; however, we also rescue dogs from other local and regional shelters when possible as well a taking in a limited number of owner surrendered dogs and at times dogs from hoarding, fighting and other cruelty case situations. Our ability to help is limited by our resources; mainly donations, volunteers, and folks willing to foster. We also try as much as possible to assist community members to keep dogs in their current homes by providing some informal assistance with vetting, fence repair, behavioral assistance, or dog food or connecting them with such resources. Such cases are addressed on a case by case basis and are dependent upon available resources.
